There’s just something so thrilling to me when it comes to working with and photographing a couple for the first time.  There’s always a sense of excitement I get before I shoot a couple’s engagement session.  I can’t really explain it, but it’s that whole “butterflies in my stomach” type feeling that gets me so giddy at the start of each session.

I met with Amy and Ben in Boone, NC where they met while they were both attending Appalachian State.  I was so happy to be in a new and unfamiliar place with these two. New locations, new backdrops, new places to shoot…it was such an adventure for me and I was so happy to be there with them! Amy and Ben knew that they wanted to shoot on ASU’s campus and at Town Tavern where they first met! {Isn’t that adorable?!} Since I was semi familiar with the area, I suggested we go out to App Ski Mountain as well to take some shots on the slopes.  I just loved everything about the locations of this session because every place meant something to Amy and Ben! It was a great way to tell their love story!

Amy and Ben are getting married in mid-October of this year! {Exciting!!} I think the sweetest thing about these two is how they are so comfortable with each other and work so well together.  Amy is such a natural beauty and Ben is so comfortable in front of the camera, so this makes my job easy! These two together though…wow…beyond words! They were up for anything, kissed and snuggled like nobody was watching, and made me so unbelievably happy to be their wedding day photographer! It was easy to capture their love for one another because…goodness…it was SO there. You know that these two have a love for one another that will last!

I always give my wedding couples ‘Get-T0-Know-You’ questionnaires that helps me get to know them better as a couple before we work together.  One of my favorite responses from Ben was that Amy makes him “want to fall in love everyday”.

Well quite frankly y’all, this couple makes me want to fall in love everyday too! Goodness gracious I love my job!

{little side note: this tunnel is on the ASU campus…it’s been piled on with layers on layers of spray paint! So neat and so creative! I loved all of the different graffiti!}

{This little spot was at the Town Tavern. It’s where Ben and Amy first met! They were with mutual friends the night they first met and from then on they’ve been inseparable! Town Tavern was also where their first date was and where they first said “I love you”!}

{Those beers aren’t just for good looks…we enjoyed a few pints. Got to admit, I think my creative inspiration gets a little better with a little buzz goin’ on! 😉 hehe just kidding…}
