Brad+Caitlin | Wedding Day

10/20/14

POSTED IN: Weddings

What an amazingly wonderful wedding day to celebrate such a sweet, sweet couple.

Caitlin and I go back…I mean, WAY back. She & I were such great friends in high school and I was literally so delighted when she asked me to photograph her wedding day, I couldn’t be happier for this girl! She has finally found the man of her dreams! (sure makes those nights spent talking about boys at sleepovers seem like a thing in the past, doesn’t it Caitlin?!)

Holy Moly, this wedding was so detailed, perfection, and totally a showcase of not only their love for one another, but also the love for their families and friends! Not only was the venue absolutely AMAZING, everything was planned out to a T! (Ok, well…EXCEPT for the part where Caitlin’s mom locked her keys in the car…along with the wedding dress…and they were running behind at the salon!! hehe! Oh wedding days, could they be more stressful!??!

No one could tell of the stress and the craziness that went on beforehand.  While Caitlin was walking down the aisle toward Brad with her Dad by her side, it almost felt like time stopped! It was wonderful day and some of my favorite parts were:

-Being at the hair salon with Caitlin, all of her bridesmaids, flower girls, junior bridesmaids, and other family members. Goodness, it was A LOT of women in one room at one time…but it was great! Half the fun of it is getting ready, right?!

-Caitlin’s “First Look” with her Dad.  He was so excited to see her and when she finally tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around to see her…that was a moment I just LOVE at weddings! Although I’m a supporter of “First Looks” with the Bride and Groom beforehand, I’m also pretty traditional too (& I realize my Bride and Groom’s are traditional as well!) I always encourage a “First Look” with the Bride’s dad though! I think it’s a great moment in his life to see his daughter for the first time in her wedding dress on her wedding day.  I mean, it’s defiantly a moment I would’ve loved to have with my dad.  I’m just so happy that I get to capture these sweet moments with so many other Dad’s and Brides!

-The reception! The dancing! The photo booth! Everything about this reception was perfect! {Even the koozies were adorable!!}

-The Bride & Groom send off/exit! Caitlin and Brad decided to do a lantern send-off, where each guest writes a wish for Caitlin and Brad, light the lantern and watch it float off! Ok, so it was pretty complicated for everyone to do in the pitch black BUT once everyone got the lanterns to light, man…it was pretty cool! (Ok, and there was one that caught part of a tree on fire…but other than that!)

Thank you so much Caitlin and Brad for letting me photograph your special, wonderful, lovely wedding day! I’m so happy that you finally found your “Prince Charming” Caitlin! I’m so glad to not only be your photographer on the most important day of your life…but to also be your friend in life! THANK YOU for being such a great friend to me all of these years! 🙂 I wish y’all the happiest of years ahead filled with laughter, love, and most of all-a great marriage that will last a lifetime! Love you both!
