December Goals

12/07/15

POSTED IN: Business, Personal

December7th_015Here it is, December 7th and I’m finally rolling out my December goals to a blog post. Better late than never, right? From the end of November until now, it’s been a whirlwind of a busy holiday season for Emma Loo, and it isn’t slowing down yet.  Thankfully, after going full time with Emma Loo back in June, it’s been easier for me to devote all of my time to running Emma Loo and staying on top of the busy holiday season.  With that being said, I’ve been able to maintain a short editing & post-production list, shoots and sessions almost everyday, and have a personal life enjoying the season with my newlywed husband! It hasn’t been easy though, and my body is starting to wear itself thin! As I write this post, I’m currently wrapped up in a blanket, with my lovable pink furry slippers on, and piping hot coffee soothing my sore throat! (Phillip is blaming my sickness on the Christmas tree and my allergies to it & claims next year we will have a fake tree!!…NEVER!!! I’m basing my health on the fact that I’ve been running around like a mad woman these past few weeks! It’s Holiday Picture time, Silly Phillip!)

I’ve been posting my monthly goals for a little over three months now, and it’s really been helpful holding me accountable for what I need to get done. Now, I must admit…I haven’t been highly successful in crossing every goal off my list, but I’ve been doing a pretty good job even still. So for December, my goals are pretty simple, winding down the year, and getting myself and my business prepped for an even more successful year in 2016.  It’s been a crazy past 6 months, and quite some highs for Emma Loo Photography, that’s for sure! But with the 2016 year just around the corner, I’m reaching for new heights and new goals every single month! I can’t wait to see just how wonderful 2016 turns out to be!

December Goals- Business

+Portfolio images online in a gallery for viewing and album made. (I’ve been putting this one off for a while & I have no idea why! I need to buckle down and GET THIS DONE!)

+Find/download/learn to use a better bookkeeping software for the 2016 year and beyond! (I may need some good suggestions with this! Do you have any?!)

+Go into 2016 with a clean and sparkling editing slate! Get every session & wedding back to clients by end of month! (This is quite a task for my weddings, especially for my December 4th wedding, but I can do it!!)

+Finish Simpson’s Bridal wall and go and hang it up! (Another one of those “I’ve been needing to get this done, just hadn’t had the time to give up!” This needs to be done PRONTO!)

+Create new collections for wedding and family sessions for 2016.

December Goals- Personal

+Put family photos on USB for Christmas presents

+Get Christmas shopping & wrapping done ASAP! (As a family, we’re REALLY scaling back this year and enjoying what Christmas really is all about. Phillip and I have decided smaller gifts with more love and thought then spending a fortune! We’ve done a lot of Goodwill shopping with our gifting in mind to find something sweet for our family. Like for instance, we found my Grandpa a mug for .25¢ that says “Worlds’ Best Grandpa”…sure it’s .25¢ but we know he’s going to LOVE it!)

+Spend “Date Nights” in watching the following Christmas movies: ELF, Miracle on 31st Street, It’s a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, White Christmas (This is a MUST!)

+Bake goodies for neighbors and family.

+Goal list and schedule out 2016 using my new Day Designer! (I quite honestly am looking SO forward to this! Laying out my entire year in advance is going to be so much fun! I plan on going on “Emma Loo Break” during the holiday weeks, and this is one of my top priorities! I’m going to take a “Me Day” and go to a coffee shop and list out my year and my goals for next year! I can’t wait!)

Here’s to a successful and joyous December and trying not to stay too busy! I must keep in mind at all times what this season is all about, and that’s Jesus! Oh Lord, Thank You for such a beautiful time of year to celebrate Your birth, a time to slow down and enjoy it with family, friends, and neighbors! But also as a time to reflect & refresh our life and know that a new year and a fresh start is just right around the corner!
