You would think that I would get tired of shooting at some of the same places in downtown Charlotte and that photographing at very well-known Charlotte landmarks (which are notorious for being overly photographed by many other wedding photographers out there) that would mean that I couldn’t be as creative or photograph unique images that fit my style.  However, when I first met Allison+Jonathon for their downtown engagement session, they were so ready to explore and they were loaded with location ideas that made my heart just so happy! I have some of the coolest clients around!

We started our engagement session together at “The Greene”…which, in the wintertime, isn’t really green at all.  I always start the session explaining and showing examples of 4 of the main poses that I typically like to do in both an engagement session and a wedding day.  I always tell my Brides and Grooms that an engagement session is really just like a “practice session” to get ready for the wedding day, but most of all, it helps me out to see what “poses” the couple feels the most comfortable in and what photographs the best for the couple.  Allison+Jonathon made it so easy for me to see that these two were already completely comfortable in front of the camera. Those two made it look SO easy! Seriously, they were pros! And they explained that they had never taken professional pictures before…well, except for when Jonathon hired a photographer to capture their NYC PLAZA HOTEL ENGAGEMENT! SO ROMANTIC! Am I right?!

Allison and Jonathon are getting married in September of 2016 after almost 6 years of dating! They met through Allison’s best friend while both attending UNC-W (Go Seahawks!) These two live in the heart of downtown (I was lucky enough to drive them home from the engagement session….I wasn’t about to send my Emma Loo Bride & Groom home in an Uber! 😉 ) and they absolutely love the Queen City!  Almost all of their wedding guests will be from out of town, so they can’t wait to share their favorite city with their families and friends.  Plus, Allison is a blogger for a local Charlotte website, so these two can always be spotted walking along the greenways, discovering new places in the city, and hanging out at local breweries on the weekends…all considered “research” for the blog, right?

Oh c’mon September! I can’t hardly wait to celebrate with these two lovebirds on their fabulous wedding day! I’ve lived in Charlotte almost my whole life and neither did I! I love that Allison & Jonathon took me on a little adventure during our session…it was so much fun!We strolled through this little cutesy area of Charlotte. A true gem right in the heart of downtown! Precious! Allison and Jonathon were pros at not moving and staying absolutely still even when cars were whizzing past them! Great job guys! Oh Allison! You have that model look! So jealous!! After we ventured throughout downtown, I took them to one of my favorite spots that views the city.  The sun was setting and we had just enough light to end our session with! These two are wonderful! All these images were taken within MINUTES! They’re just too good!
