It’s always fun to shoot a wedding when it’s something you just love doing, but it’s even more special when you absolutely love WHERE you’re shooting the wedding!! Getting to photograph my very first wedding of 2017 right on the beach was such an amazing experience! It was such a GORGEOUS wedding day and I loved being a part of Anna and Clint’s beautiful, but WINDY, winter wedding! It was a crystal clear day with not a cloud in the sky and the sun shining with all its might! It was a DREAM wedding! For me, I believe my photographic style is showcased best in wide open spaces like farms and fields…and after shooting Anna and Clinton’s wedding day…THE BEACH is where it’s showcased best! If only ALL my weddings could be shot on the beach! I’d move to the coast in a heartbeat!
I first met Anna at Dean & Deluca a couple months back. We sipped on coffee and talked about all of the details of her and Clint’s wedding day taking place in Beaufort, NC. It all sounded like a DREAM and I couldn’t wait until the calendar turned to January because it would soon be wedding day for those two! Hearing about Anna’s wedding details could not prepare me for how beautiful everything was in person! Their wedding details, venue, florals, invitations, the lighting, even the bridesmaids dresses were all absolute perfection! It’s the kind of wedding photographers like me dream about!
There were so many wonderful moments from their wedding weekend that I loved! I loved getting to know their families and friends. Anna and Clint’s parents are absolutely amazing and some of the sweetest parents I’ve ever worked with! When I met Anna’s parents for the first time at their rehearsal dinner, her mom was handing me a glass of prosecco while her dad was handing me a steamed oyster! Talk about southern hospitality with a coastal twist! Even on wedding day, Clint’s mom gave me one big hug and I felt like part of their family! When the ceremony was over, I caught the four parents together in the hallway drying up tears and hugging one another saying “welcome to our family”. It was such a sweet moment that I loved witnessing! I just love how weddings not only bring the Bride and Groom together, but also their families as well!
Even though it was BLISTERING COLD and the wind chill was making it feel like the mid-thirties (although we all felt it was MUCH colder!) the day couldn’t have been better for Anna and Clint! The wind played a huge role during portrait time! With the windblown hair, the chilly wind temps, and the freezing cold sand, we had to rush to finish and cut our portrait time a little short! It was a-ok with me because my fingers were literally frozen and after they thawed out, I did sneak Anna and Clint outside one more time to take some beloved sunset portraits! (They RAN back inside when sunset portraits were over! I don’t blame them!!) I’m so honored and thrilled to finally share this wedding with you! I hope you enjoy my favorite images from my first wedding of 2017!! They are some of my all time favorite images to date! SO excited to see what the rest of 2017 has in store for me, but for now, here’s to Anna and Clint! Congratulations you two!
