Having a wedding during the off-season is always a great way to ease back into the swing of things before the heavy wedding season begins…but having a wedding during the off-season IN CHARLESTON…now that’s a way to begin a wedding season!!!!

When I opened Heather’s email inquiry for the very first time, I was so thrilled! I couldn’t wait to hear all about the details of her and Ben’s wedding day! I couldn’t even get off the phone with Heather without doing my happy dance! Her and Ben’s wedding sounded like a DREAM and I couldn’t WAIT until it was February 18th to be able to photograph such a beautiful day for them! It’s hard to explain how much I just love these two! They are the perfect example of an Emma Loo Couple and then some!! Heather and Ben are relaxed, trusting, casual, and wanted to keep their wedding centered around celebrating their marriage — something that I just absolutely adored about these two! They weren’t concerned with having SUCH a BIG wedding, instead they had a lovely ceremony and reception following with 24 of their closest friends and family. There’s something so special about every wedding, but Heather and Ben’s wedding was truly such a special gift for me, especially at the start of my highly anticipated wedding season. These two reminded me so much of why I love what I do. Capturing and celebrating the heart of a wedding — the marriage!

One of my favorite parts of the day was during the ceremony. Heather and Ben had already said their vows and exchanged their rings and I was anticipating the first kiss! With my camera at the ready, the pastor surprised me when he asked all of the guests to surround Heather and Ben in the middle of the aisle. Everyone prayed over Heather and Ben and it was absolutely beautiful! Seeing hands stretched out to pray over them was such a sweet moment of the ceremony and one I’ll never forget!

Heather and Ben had such an amazing group of family and friends to surround them on their wedding day! Not only was their wedding day filled with so much love, but they were in the city that they both loved so much! I was thrilled when Heather and Ben agreed to romantic portraits down on the Charleston Battery…something so Charleston! It was hard to take them away from their guests, but it was SO WORTH IT!
