I have been looking forward to this post for a while now! When I first met Ellen, we were in a Middle Grades Education class where we sat next to each other on the very first day of class and we immediately hit it off! I was newly engaged and she and I had talked before and after class about all things wedding, Disney (we both should’ve been Disney Princesses!) and relationships! I hadn’t met Justin yet, but I felt like I knew of him just talking with her! I also knew that she was crazy about him and they were a match made in heaven! The semester was over and classes had ended, however, Ellen and I remained friends and we kept up with each other through social media. The day she got engaged I was praying and hoping that I could be her and Justin’s wedding photographer! Their love story is just too good and the kind that photographer’s only DREAM of capturing!

When Ellen reached out and asked me to photograph their wedding day, I was THRILLED!!! It’s quite an honor to photograph ANY wedding…but for a friend…now that’s even more special! We decided that an Uptown Charlotte engagement session would suite them just fine, so we met one windy afternoon in Uptown! And when I say windy, I mean W-I-N-D-Y!!! I’ve never seen Uptown Charlotte that windblown! WE should’ve been nicknamed “the Windy City” that day!

Meeting Justin for the first time ever at the engagement session was great! (And just wait until you see his bowtie and socks! They have miniature dachshunds on them! So cute!) I had it right! Ellen and Justin ARE a match made in heaven! They are so perfect for each other! I love seeing couples who just are so comfortable with one another and so at ease with each other! Ellen and Justin were definitely just that! I never felt like I was posing them too much or having to tell them what to do…they just DID it naturally! They laughed, hugged, snuggled, held hands, loved, and were absolutely smitten with one another! It’s hard to believe they’ve been together since high school! It was almost like they were new sweethearts! They were adorable together!

I simply can’t wait until August 5th for these two! Their wedding day is going to be so special and finally these two will be able to call each other Husband and Wife! How awesome is that! Enjoy some of my favorites from their Uptown Charlotte engagement session!
