Wedding at Ritchie Hill in Concord, NC | Katie and Brian

As soon as I left Katie and Brian’s engagement session, I couldn’t help but start counting down the days until their wedding!! I immediately felt like best buds with Katie and Brian and I knew their wedding day would feel so comfortable and such fun! They were planning on a smaller wedding day with their closest friends and family surrounding them and I don’t think they could’ve planned for a better way to celebrate the very first day of their marriage! In fact, Brian gave a toast to everyone who was there to celebrate with them and he said that the weekend wasn’t about him and Katie, but rather about those who were there who have been involved in their lives in so many ways! Together, Katie and Brian raised their glasses to their families and friends who loved and supported them every step of the way! It was such a sweet moment and one of many that I so enjoyed throughout the day!

Rain had been in the forecast the entire day, and one thing that I loved about Katie was her attitude about the weather! She said it was one thing she couldn’t control and was okay with it! I loved that about her! Despite the cold and rainy weather, Brian and Katie’s day felt warm and bright! In fact, when the weather made us change the ceremony location plans, I don’t think the ceremony could’ve been planned better!! Their simple ceremony took place on the beautiful porch at Ritchie Hill. It was intimate, close, relaxed, and such a meaningful celebration! One aspect of the ceremony that I just loved was while everyone was circled around Katie and Brian, the rings were passed around the circle so that everyone could hold the rings and rub them for good luck and best wishes! It was so neat to see everyone circled up and involved in the ceremony! The rain helped make the ceremony EVEN BETTER! Just before Katie and Brian kissed for the very first time as husband and wife, everyone toasted and gave their cheers for many wonderful years ahead! (They even toasted with Katie and Brian’s favorite beer from their favorite local brewery-Trophy Brewing’s Trophy Wife! Not going to lie…I took a can home to enjoy after the wedding, and it was AMAZING!!!)

One of my favorite parts of their entire day had to be when Katie’s MawMaw was putting on Katie’s “something borrowed” bracelet. I just loved seeing MawMaw’s face beam with excitement and a smile from cheek to cheek! It was such an honor to be a part of such a sweet moment between Granddaughter and Grandma! It’s moments such as these that make being apart of weddings such an honor!

Although the rain and weather kept us covered and indoors for the most of the day, the love that was so present among everyone bring brightness despite the cloudy day! Katie and Brian, thank you so much for including me in your big day! It was such an honor!! I wish we could go back and relive Saturday all over again! I had such a fun time with you all, your families, and your wonderful friends! It was an AMAZING way to kick off my 2018 wedding season!

This is Katie’s ring stuck to the can!! Katie and Brian agree, we should get free beer from Trophy Brewing for life for this!! Ritchie Hill is still SO PRETTY even despite the rain! Passing the rings around! I loved this moment during the ceremony! A toast just before the kiss! CHEERS! We wanted some pictures in front of the house when it wasn’t raining…sure enough as soon as we got in place to take pictures…it started raining!! SO…up to the upstairs porch we go! LOVE that beautiful Hailey Paige gown! Some “sunset” portraits! I died laughing over this hashtag! #TooCute Let the party begin!! Loved the shades for the sparkler exit (& dance floor props!) Musician Adam Pitts was AMAZING and a one man band! One of the BEST I’ve EVER heard!! Love my sweet couples! Congrats Katie and Brian!!
