When I first met Courtney, we both wore braces and we were in high school together (Go Bulldogs!)…so needless to say, she and I have been friends for quite sometime! But it wasn’t until her graduation from college until I met Ian. Ian and Courtney are THAT COUPLE who you just know are supposed to be together…so their wedding day was long awaited. They are that perfect couple who make loving each other so much fun, so I knew that their wedding day was going to be a blast to be a part of!
To say that I had a delight photographing Courtney and Ian’s wedding day would be quite an understatement! Their wedding was at the fabulous Whitehead Manor in Charlotte, and it was my first time ever shooting at this wedding venue! It was quite a treat to shoot my first wedding there with such a special Bride & Groom! Plus, what made it even sweeter was one of our mutual friends from high school, Ashton, is the wedding coordinator there at the venue! What a small world, right?!
What I loved most about their wedding day was just how easy-going everything and everyone felt. Everyone was enjoying themselves, they all loved being together, and everyone was laughing and having so much fun…Nothing ever seemed stressful or hectic (which is quite rare on a wedding day!) It was easy to have lots of fun at their wedding because who doesn’t love dancing underneath the stars (& market lights) and drinking home brewed beer named “Sophie” in honor of their pup! Plus, after dinner it seemed like EVERYONE got out on the dance floor and had the best time! Even Grandma was out there cuttin’ a rug (& it was SO cute, y’all!) To witness and help be a part of a love story like Courtney and Ian’s, it was quite an honor and I’m so happy to get to capture such sweet moments of their first day as Husband and Wife!
When the night was wrapping up, one of the Bridesmaids told me “You have like the COOLEST job!” and I definitely agreed! I absolutely love doing what I do! Being able to photograph the day one of two people’s marriage is so amazing and I’m so happy I could be a part of Courtney and Ian’s day one!
