First of all, I’d like to say that my wedding work is showcased best at farms and in the country. Don’t ask me why, but some of my most favorite weddings take place out in the country with wide open spaces large enough for wide portraits, old trees nestled on the land, and pretty portrait locations as far as the eye can see. Maybe it’s because I’m from the south and live in the country…but there’s just something about it that I love so dearly. That’s why McKenzie and Dan’s wedding was one of my all time favorite weddings to photograph. Their fall wedding at the Farm at Brusharbor in Concord was truly a picture perfect wedding day and I absolutely LOVED shooting there.
I knew I was going to love working with McKenzie and Dan from the moment I met these two at their engagement session. McKenzie and I actually went to high school together but we hadn’t seen each other in years! When I finally met her fiancé, Dan, I knew that they were going to have one beautiful marriage and such a wonderful wedding day! Their love for one another is so evident and you can tell that they’re so in love and care so deeply for one another. Their love was SO strong on their wedding day and nothing could compare us for seeing Dan get emotional during the reading of his vows from McKenzie! We were all tearing up behind camera! What a moment! When Dan finally saw McKenzie walking towards him at the start of the ceremony, the emotions didn’t stop there! They were so joyful, full of emotions, and all sorts of happiness throughout their entire ceremony. It was just beautiful to capture!
Their day was absolutely PERFECT! The only thing that could’ve been different about their day was the WIND! The wind was literally HOWLING and brought freezing cold temperatures along with its gusts! So it was SO COLD too! Even though it was so windy, it did make for some amazing portraits! McKenzie’s dress looked BEAUTIFUL blowing in the wind! I’m so very thankful for couples who care about their portraits on wedding day! Although it was so cold and windy, McKenzie and Dan fought through the bitter cold temperatures, snuggled up a little tighter, and we got some AMAZING shots of them at sunset. Their wedding party was such a joy to work with as well, and it really makes all the difference on your wedding day AND in your images if you have your closest group of friends who care just as much about your portraits as you do! McKenzie and Dan’s wedding party was FREEZING as well, but they didn’t let the chill bother them! They were AMAZING and we loved capturing the love not only between McKenzie and Dan but with their friends and family as well! Just wait until you see some of the sunset portraits….they were breathtaking!
I can’t wait to show you this beautiful fall wedding! It’s one of my absolute favorites and I hope it becomes one of yours too! Enjoy!
