I have dreaded writing this post since the calendar flipped over to July…mainly because I was going to have to tell y’all that I missed last months goal blog post, and part of me as felt shame for it ever since.

This blogging thing really isn’t one for the faint of heart. It often takes me a whole day just to plan, write, get images ready, and schedule blog posts.  I’m not a professional at it, and I SO wish I were, but a big part of my business IS the blog and I can definitely tell the difference in EVERYTHING with my business since I’ve started blogging daily, weekly, and monthly.  (So, for all of my “blog readers” out there…Thank you for reading & supporting me! I really do appreciate it!)

It’s officially July 2nd…and I wish I could tell y’all that I’ve had this post planned and written for weeks, given the fact that I missed the boat on last month’s “June Goals”.  Honestly though, I’m writing this today…already 2 days into July! Oooh! Procrastination at it’s finest! 

So here’s some of my goals for July…granted, I’m keeping my list semi-short because we’re going on vacation to the beach in just a few days and I’m planning on taking a week off of work the week after.  I’ve only got one wedding schedule to shoot in July (& it’s TOMORROW!!) and overall, it’s just going to be a nice, relaxing month for me….hopefully!

Business Goals-

+Something I’ve been putting off & putting off has been designing, making, and ordering a sample album of my work to take to client meetings.  WHY? I have no idea… But this is something that HAS to be done THIS MONTH! Since I’m not as busy as I usually am this month, I’ve got to take the time to get this bad boy completed!

+Oh, my dreaded website! I’m sure the team who is helping design my new website just hates me! I need to stop burning the flame for this website design and just get it finished! I said I wanted it released in November…and that’s what we’re going to do…If not November, then we’ll put some more finishing touches in to it and start fresh by 2017!

+Clean out the office closet.  Since I’ll be “nesting” before our puppy comes in November/December, I’ll be making a clean sweep around our house and cleaning out closets left and right.  The office closet is definitely one that needs to get organized and by organized, I’m thinking built in shelving, drawers, and cubbies to put equipment in.

+Spray paint the shelf in my office gold & rearrange it and start on recovering the chairs!  I’ve always wanted a gold bookcase with simply decor arranged on it.  I’m tired of always looking at the bookcase and it looking too cluttered!

+Get updated prints for my office gallery wall and the Simpson’s Bridal Gallery wall.

Personal Goals-

+I’ve started walking/jogging and exercising again as well as trying to eat better.  I’m doing a low-carb diet and generally just trying to eat a whole lot healthier than what we’ve been eating! I know it’s going to be a hard goal to follow while on vacation, but hopefully I’ll be able to stick with it!

+Get our backyard in shape! We’ve pulled out all of the bushes that were along the backside of the house and now we need to lay down new soil to make the back even and look a little bit better.  We’re also planning on putting the trashcans on their own little “island” at the back of the house, building a partition/plant divider out of our old shutters, and buy a picnic table!

+Prep our house for exterior paint.  We’re painting our brick and I simply can’t wait!! Our house is going to look SO GOOD after it’s all said and done! The sooner we get everything prepped, the sooner we can paint! We still have to take down shutters, make our own board and batten shutters, pressure wash the house, and remove all of our downspouts.  It’s going to be a lot of work…but it’ll be worth it!

+Clean out all of our closets and get ready for another garage sale.  I’m tired of just STUFFING things into a random closet.  Does anyone else do that?! We’re getting a puppy in November/December, and I’m wanting our house to be semi-organized by the time that we bring him/her home.  The reason why I’m such a stickler about this is because I’m getting rid of one of our hall closets and converting it into a dog crate for the puppy.  Since I don’t like looking at wire crates around a house (and because we don’t have the floor space…) I want to make the foyer hall closet into a “dog house”.  I’ve already cleaned out the closet, so I’m used to not being able to use it, but now it’s trying to find a more organized home for the items that I’ve relocated out of that closet.

+New shower curtain for our main bathroom.  We washed ours one day and didn’t realize that it was “dry clean only” so it shrunk…tremendously.  Now I’d like to get something similar but this time get it monogrammed with our initials.  (I know what you’re probably thinking….”Why is she talking about a SHOWER CURTAIN…” but it’s one of those things where if I don’t write it down….it’ll be NEXT JULY before it gets done!!)
