Something that I’ve challenged myself to do from the start of the New Year was to finally break out of my “comfort zone” and start offering prints, albums, and other keepsakes to my Clients. While I used to only provide the digital files after I photographed each session or wedding day, I knew that only offering digital files in the long run wasn’t up-to-par and it wasn’t going to make my business grow in the direction I was wanting it to go.
So, in the meantime, I’ve been working on adding classics to my line of products and services that I offer, and I was in search of an album company that I would feel comfortable working with for the very first time, and help me make an album that would help my Clients feel like they have just received an heirloom of their wedding day or portrait session. I wanted something tangible for my Clients to actually hold in their hands, and be able to turn the pages and feel the images underneath each finger tip instead of just scrolling through images on a screen.
I started my album process and used our own wedding images as my own sort of brand research. I searched high and low for an album company that I felt offered simple designs and easy to use, and I’ve found all of that in Kiss Books. While using our wedding day images to design and create our wedding album, I was overwhelmed with picking out my favorites from the bunch! (Cheyenne, you rock! I fall in love with our images more and more every time I look at them!!) Making sure that I included enough images to completely tell our wedding day story, but not over-crowd the album and keep a simple design throughout. I designed our very own wedding album, and I have been so eager to share it with anyone who’d want to see! I am just SO proud of our wedding album! My only regret is that we didn’t get it made earlier!
We gifted our album to each other as part of our first anniversary gift, and when we received it, we both snuggled up on the couch with the album in our hands and slowly flipped through the pages one by one. Such a magical feeling to be able to hold our wedding day in our hands and relive those memories from that day. We absolutely loved it!
My only hope is to begin making more albums so that my Clients will be able to enjoy their wedding day over and over again like we did. I am also in the process of creating a sample wedding album for my Clients to view at the booking process or afterwards when they’d like to get an album made. It’s a pretty tough process to do, especially trying to pick out favorites to include in the album design!
Enjoy these few images of our very own wedding album, and I’ll be sure to share some of my samples when they arrive! Happy Monday!
